Revelation Missionary Baptist Church

                          Raleigh, NC

Deacons  - (from of the Greek word "diaconos"), meaning a "runner," or "servant",  are a group of lay officials, who are ordained to share, along with the Pastor, in the ministry and governance of the church.

The diaconates play a very vital role in the strength and spiritual growth of the church.  Since the beginning as with the early church, they are primarily responsible for the administration and charitable functions of the Christian community both within and outside of the church walls.

  4. Contact candidates for baptism and provide briefing to them

  5. Assist Pastor in receiving concerns and request of church body.

Associate ministers - usually have some participation in worship, in preaching, and in administrative areas of the church's ministry. Their responsibilities may vary according to the needs of the church and the abilities of the associate. The associates are expected to be part of a close team relationship with the Pastor and assist, or lead when necessary, in the administration of the ordinances, reception of members, and other spiritual services of the church. They also serve along side the Deacons in regular areas of pastoral ministry such as teaching, visitation, administration and evangelism, and at times, may represent the church in denominational and ecumenical services. We thank God for the calling and election of our associates
